The report states that delivery takes 5-7 days. As soon as the captured crabs arrive in Murmansk, they are immediately sent to a specialized foster care facility to relieve pressure and prepare for air transportation. From there, they are then transported by container trucks to the "Crab Hotel" near Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport.



According to the report, frozen products are produced in northern Russia because the United States and the European Union were once very interested in them. Currently, with these markets closed, companies are searching for new sales markets, which has become a driving force for air transportation of live crabs to the Chinese market.



The average price of frozen crabs shipped to China in the first half of 2023 decreased by 45% year-on-year and 38% compared to 2019, reaching $12650 per ton. The average price of live crabs in the first half of this year was $34508 per ton.
